Biographie

Rajendra Prasad (born Gadde Rajendra Prasad; 19 July 1956) is an Indian actor who predominantly works in Telugu cinema. He made his acting debut with a minor role in Sneham (1977) and initially appeared in supporting and antagonistic roles.

Prasad had his breakthrough with Vamsy's romantic comedy Ladies Tailor (1986). He subsequently appeared in comedy films including Aha Naa Pellanta (1987), Chettu Kinda Pleader (1989), April 1 Vidudala (1991), Appula Appa Rao (1991), Aa Okkati Adakku (1992), and Rajendrudu Gajendrudu (1993). He won his first Nandi Award for Best Actor for the drama Erra Mandaram (1991).

In the 2000s, Prasad began appearing in character roles, including that of a newspaper editor in the philosophical drama Aa Naluguru (2004), for which he won his second Nandi Award for Best Actor. He also appeared in Mee Sreyobhilashi (2007) and Onamalu (2012). He won the Nandi Award for Best Supporting Actor for Srimanthudu (2015) and appeared in Julayi (2012), Nannaku Prematho (2016), Mahanati (2018), F2: Fun and Frustration (2019), and F3 (2022).

In 2024, Prasad appeared in the science-fiction film Kalki 2898 AD, the family drama Sathya, and the comedy Bhale Unnade. His film credits also include Sankranthiki Vasthunnam (2025), Hari Hara Veera Mallu (2025), and Kannappa (2025). He has received the title "Nata Kirti" and an Honorary Doctorate from Andhra University.
