Rin

Rin appears in Yūko's shop complaining of stiffness in her pinky finger. Yūko informs Rin that this is due to a "bad habit" the woman has, though Rin adamantly denies any sort of bad habit. Her denial causes a stream of black smoke entwined with the finger to become visible to both Yūko and Watanuki, revealing that her bad habit is that she is a compulsive liar. Yūko provides Rin with a ring that would supposedly alleviate her discomfort, but Rin goes back into her life and continues lying, rendering the ring useless. She becomes discontent with the ring, removing it while crossing the street, and the black smoke caused from her lies engulfs her entire body, causing her to become stuck in the middle of the crosswalk directly in the path of an oncoming truck. In the manga, she is unable to avoid the truck, and is killed. In the anime, she survives being hit by the truck and learns to change her ways.
