The powerful leader of the Shades, and Nier's sworn enemy. The Shadowlord is later revealed to have been the original human Nier, becoming a Shade after his body and soul were split into two separate entities as part of Project Gestalt. Due to his status as the Original Gestalt he maintained his consciousness and former humanity, not falling into relapse as the other Shades had done.
