He is the adopted son of Lord Lonato, the lord of the Gaspard territory in the Kingdom of Faerghus. He is the youngest member of the Blue Lions house.
He deeply admires his adoptive father—his benefactor—and works diligently day and night at the Officers Academy. He loves tales of chivalry and aspires to become a knight.
He has a personable, earnest, and reliable nature, though he grew up in poverty and once resorted to theft to support his younger siblings. He regrets that past and strives to live an even more upright life to atone for it. In fact, he became Lord Lonato's adopted son after breaking into the lord's manor to steal.
Perhaps because he is the son of a tavern keeper, he is skilled at cooking. Female students at the academy describe him as having a "down-to-earth, commoner-like charm."
As a sensible young man, he often plays the "straight man" in conversations. However, one of the few times he loses his composure is when talking to Felix; upon realizing that Felix bears a striking resemblance to the protagonist of a certain story, he becomes giddy with excitement and stops listening to a word Felix says.
