Biographie

Yoko Kitajima is a shoujo mangaka who, as a senior high school student, made her debut in 1961 in Shoujo Club magazine.

Her title Nile no Oukan, published in 1963, was considered the first shoujo manga to depict a romance set in Ancient Egypt and had a major influence on works by later artists such as Keiko Takemiya's Pharaoh no Haka and Chieko Hosokawa's Ouke no Monshou.
