Vicky Kaushal (born May 16, 1988) is an Indian actor who works predominantly in Hindi cinema. After working as an assistant director on the two-part Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) and making minor screen appearances, he played his first leading role in Masaan (2015), winning the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Male. He subsequently starred in Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016).
In 2018, Kaushal gained wider recognition appearing in Raazi, Love per Square Foot, Lust Stories, and Manmarziyaan. For his supporting role in Sanju (2018), he won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. He received the National Film Award for Best Actor for headlining Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019).
His subsequent releases included Bhoot: Part One - The Haunted Ship (2020) and the biographical drama Sardar Udham (2021), for which he won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor. He later appeared in Govinda Naam Mera (2022), Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (2023), the biographical drama Sam Bahadur (2023), Dunki (2023), and Bad Newz (2024).
