Varalaxmi Sarathkumar (born March 5, 1985) is an Indian actress who works predominantly in Tamil and Telugu cinema, alongside appearances in Malayalam and Kannada films. She made her feature film acting debut in Podaa Podi (2012), earning the Vijay Award for Best Debut Actress. She subsequently made her Kannada debut in Maanikya (2014) and her Malayalam debut in the action thriller Kasaba (2016).
For her performance in the musical drama Tharai Thappattai (2016), Sarathkumar won the SIIMA Award for Best Actress (Critics) – Tamil. Her credits during this period included the neo-noir action thriller Vikram Vedha (2017), Nibunan (2017), Sathya (2017), the political drama Sarkar (2018), and Sandakozhi 2 (2018). She made her Telugu debut with Tenali Ramakrishna BA.BL (2019).
In the 2020s, Sarathkumar expanded her screen presence across Telugu cinema with Krack (2021), Naandhi (2021), Yashoda (2022), and Veera Simha Reddy (2023), winning the IIFA Utsavam Award for Best Supporting Actress – Telugu for the latter. Her subsequent releases included Kota Bommali PS (2023), the superhero film Hanu-Man (2024), Sabari (2024), Raayan (2024), the Kannada release Max (2024), and Madha Gaja Raja (2025).
