Shruti Haasan (born 28 January, 1986) is an Indian actress, playback singer, and musician who predominantly works in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi cinema. She is the daughter of actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika Thakur.
After working as a child playback singer and making a brief appearance in Hey Ram (2000), she made her adult acting debut in the Hindi action thriller Luck (2009). She appeared in Anaganaga O Dheerudu (2011) and 7 Aum Arivu (2011), winning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South. Her other film roles include Gabbar Singh (2012), 3 (2012), Balupu (2013), Yevadu (2014), Race Gurram (2014), Srimanthudu (2015), Premam (2016), Krack (2021), Waltair Veerayya (2023), Veera Simha Reddy (2023), Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire (2023), and Coolie (2025). She also appeared in the Hindi films D-Day (2013) and Welcome Back (2015), as well as the American action drama series Treadstone (2019).
She composed the soundtrack for Unnaipol Oruvan (2009) and fronted the alternative rock band The Extramentals. She has received two Filmfare Awards South, including Best Actress – Telugu for Race Gurram, and multiple South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) for acting and playback singing.
