Debuted in Margaret in 1975 with "Saint Helena no Cake Yasan (セントヘレナのケーキ屋さん)". She enjoys watching plays and rakugo and reading mysteries. She likes dogs.
In addition to her work as a mangaka, Hoshino is also a pharmacist who graduated from Kyoritsu College of Pharmacy. Her family runs a pharmacy as well.
