Kachisuke Yanofuji is a legend who, from the Showa to the Heisei eras, published horror manga alongside authors such as Hino Hideshi, Ochazuke Nori, Kanako Inuki, Tooru Yamazaki, and Miyako Cojima.
After making his debut as a manga artist in 1970, he published four classic works through Hibari Shobou: Kyoufu no Madara Shoujo, Akuma no Chi ga Odoru, Aoi Rei no Tatari, and Akurei ga Soba ni Iru (each featuring sheet music for original songs at the end of the volume). In the mid-1990s, under the pen name Satono Kounen, he made a huge impact on horror manga fans with works such as Kaikiekikatai Germeva and Kaikiseikitai Domdom.
While continuing to create gekiga, he deepened his interest in and study of fortune-telling, and has been affiliated with the Uranai no Yakata in Shibuya since 2001. He gained a reputation for making spot-on predictions the moment a client sat down in front of him, and as the “Spot-On Fortune Teller of Shibuya,” clients from all over the country flocked to him through word of mouth and referrals. He currently conducts readings in Hibarigaoka (!).
